Annotation The aim of the given study is to reveal the literary features of the pre-revolutionary Buryat literature, to analyze various aspects of composite elements usage and some poetic (syntactic) figures in edifying speeches by E.-Kh. Galshiev, the Buryat author. The relevance of the research is caused by the lack of study of E.-Kh. Galshiev’s literary heritage and is due to the importance of analysis of traditional ethical-didactic works of instructive nature. The analysis of poetic (syntactic) figures is presented in the article for the first time: phonetic anaphora (alliteration, syntactic anaphora) of parallelism, epiphora. Poetic figures under consideration give special euphony of figurative and artistic speech in E.-Kh.Galshiev’s edifying utterances. Alliteration often occurs in utterances. Alliteration (tolgoiholholgo) is a sound repetition, which is common for the Buryat language structure. Semantic and syntactic parallelism is an important element in E.-Kh. Galshiev’s edifying utterances. The edifying utterances in Galshiev’s works are based on parallelism of two sentences, which have a semantic connection and include a lexical parallel. Radif and refrain are kinds of poetic epiphora in speech. This compositional technique is used at the end of each line to strengthen the rhythm of the verse in the Galshiev’s composition.
Key words poetic (syntactic) figures, metric means, alliteration, parallelism, epiphora
