Annotation The article is devoted to the analysis of the concepts of “globalization” and “identity” in the modern humanities. Defined today in terms of “transformation”, “integration”, “process”, “interstate dialogue” globalization reveals its difficult social nature that manifests itself differently in economics, politics, culture and language. Globalization influences the processes of social and cultural identification of individuals and social groups. Diversification of possibilities for human interacting with the environment promotes reconsideration of its importance in the society. As the base category of thought “I” is more often categorized through the dialogic prism of the Other. This serious psychological reorganization of the cognitive sphere of the individual has essential importance and allows getting away from the simplified vision of the structural features of identity. Special attention in the article is paid to the analysis of Tajfel-Turner’s theory of social identity and Z. Vensonno’s cultural identity that reveal the dynamic character of the processes of the personality’s self-identification.
Key words globalization, individualization, identity, self-identity
