Annotation	The article deals with the modern problem of hermeneutics as the art of textual interpretation and the study of the explanation of a written text. The hermeneutics began as a theological methodology governing the interpretation of Scripture. At present it developed into a general theory of human understanding and proved to be much bigger than theology theory. The article based on the conceptions of Friedrich Schleiermacher, Wilhelm Dilthey, Martin Heidegger, Hans-Georg Gadamer, and Paul Ricoeur, contains the analysis of the structure of hermeneutic understanding. Now there is a large number of texts, including media, which for different reasons are losing the discourse signs, and as a consequence, there is a danger of their misunderstanding. It is hermeneutics that may provide the key to decode these texts.
