Annotation In the modern world in terms of globalization, processes of rapprochement between states in the area of economy, business, education, tourism, various types of production and other spheres of life of the international community are observed. Political, economic, social, cultural and other aspects of this phenomenon are studied in various fields of scientific knowledge. The article emphasizes the importance of cultural and philosophical reflection on the basic issues of global problematics, the need for research and analysis of the philosophical foundations of genesis, the essence of global processes and resulting consequences. Appeal to the examples of the world art (and music) can contribute to rethinking of the contemporary world, tolerance, openness to dialogue, to overcoming divisions and conflict prevention (to the extent, of course, to what art is able to do this). “Soft power” of the Russian piano school is a means of building cross-cultural communication, creating a positive image of Russia abroad; and the traditions of the International Tchaikovsky Competition is one of the ways of preserving and broadcasting the rich heritage of Russian music (especially piano), disclosure of deep semantic and axiological foundations of national culture.
