Annotation The article deals with the problem of English textbook development in view of new educational standards. The author presents a new effective English textbook based on the communicative approach to the foreign language teaching and aimed at formation of all components of foreign language communicative competence. The textbook «English for Science Students» gives special emphasis to communication skills. The course differs from traditional English textbooks in motivating and interesting topics, creative tasks, grammar and vocabulary, which are in students’ ability.
