Annotation	The article is devoted to the research of ethnocultural connections between Mari and Russian peoples, the revelation of convergent and borrowed elements’ degree in the traditional wedding of the Mari. Also it covers the structure of traditional Mari wedding ritualism, especially, its local versions. Paganism is partially weakened under the influence of Christianization and, as a consequence, the simplification of pagan wedding ritual in the whole and some pagan magic rituals, in particular, took place.
