Annotation Based on ethnographical field material firstly introduced to science the article deals with the problems of worshipping Buddhism among the Buryat people. In accordance to the already existing term “popular Orthodoxy”, religious beliefs of the Buryat Buddhists are referred to as popular Buddhism. Buddhist Church with a definite support of the government played a great role in the revival of Buddhism in Russia. The Buryat parishioners make every effort to preserve Buddhism as the main part of everyday life essential for the surviving of the ethnos. The stories allow us to create the structure of daily parishioner’s routine, women’s in particular, in which the main role is to perform some Buddhist rituals, including every day and holiday life, family traditions as well as funeral ones.
