Annotation	On the basis of the materials of the Republic of Buryatia the article provides a coherent analysis of the All-Union Leninist Communist League (Komsomol) activity in its search for a new course from the 21st Congress till the final collapse of the organization. Against the general background of sweeping changes in the Soviet Union the author tries to provide a new comprehension of the critical period in the history of the republican Komsomol, to find out the reasons for its voluntary dissolution, to analyze a qualitative reformatting of once a youth-oriented organization towards the business activity.
