Annotation | The article is devoted to development of typology of the onomastic values and description of semantics of personal names in the Mongolian languages: Buryat, Mongolian, Kalmyk. The material of the research is primordial personal names, the names formed from the Mongolian, Buryat, Kalmyk, general Turkic-Mongolian appellative bases which have been used and also from initial lexemes of other languages which function for a long time and that is why they lost the etymological bases long ago and are subordinated to language standards of modern Mongolian languages. They are presented in genealogical tables, dictionaries, reference materials, and scientific works. In the comparative analysis of names, mostly the closest etymologies have been applied, further etymologies are given sporadically. Formation and development of the anthroponomical systems happen under the influence of external (historical) and internal factors. The latter are characterized by contradiction between the old system (fixing and preservation) and new requirements. It resulted in the fact that in the Mongolian languages all-Mongolian stratum remains and innovative layer appears in all revealed onomastic values with its semantic fields, for example, religiously motivated names: “X is not the person, X is … (X – denotate)” – personal names from names of birds. The innovation has begun since historically developed local functioning of languages. |
