| Annotation | The authors have set up a goal to explore the stages of formation and development of Tibetan medicine in Buryatia, to reveal the role of the first scientific organization ‒ the Buryat Scientific Committee and its attempts of reforming the Tibetan medicine and modernization of health care of the BMASSR in general. Two opposite tendencies which were in society are shown in the article: on the one hand, the policy on suppression of the Tibetan medicine was pursued, on the other hand, there were supporters of integration of the Tibetan medicine into the developing system of the Soviet health care. The archives of the Buryat scientific committee are stored in funds of the Center of eastern manuscripts and xylographs of the IMBT of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. On the basis of documents from this archive, the role of Buruchkom in attempts to keep the Tibetan medicine is shown, the reasons of unsuccessful attempt of integration of traditional medicine into the Soviet health care system are analyzed. New archival documents on the history of the Tibetan medicine and first scientific organizations are introduced for scientific turnover. The policy of the Soviet authorities towards the Tibetan medicine, which led to its destruction in the Soviet Union is shown. The relevance of the article is defined by the need of reconstruction of the state and conditions of the Tibetan medicine during the initial stage of formation of modern health care system of Buryatia for understanding of the current state and status of traditional medicine of Russia and problems facing it. Background identified the need to recreate the state of Tibetan medicine in Buryatia health formation period for understanding the current state of traditional medicine in Russia and the problems facing it. |
