Annotation	The article touches upon the problem of the usage of Quebec French in the first half of the 19th century. The analysis of the original text of the well-known Th. Maguire’s work helps us define some language features of the mid-19th century Quebec French. The paper also clarifies the types and the causes of linguistic divergences between Quebec French and Standard French.
