Annotation	The article deals with a contrastive description of craftsmen’s argot that was in use in France up to the 20th century. Argot component of seasonal workers’ professional speech started to form together with the development of craft. The analysis of lexical materials shows that seasonal workers’ argot has mostly secret and derogative functions. The amount of lexical units reflecting the production process in this argot is insignificant.
