Annotation	The paper reveals some linguistic features of modern omens distinguishing them from traditional texts and discusses some new (as compared with the omens of the past) structural, semantic and figurative characteristics of the observable units. The author postulates the productivity of the usage of modern omens for the study of the actual language picture of the world.
