Annotation	The article is devoted to the analysis of the features of the poetics of the Chinese works by Nikolai Shchegolev. The poet took part in the associations “Young Churaevka” in Harbin and “Friday” in Shanghai. His poems remain insufficiently explored. Existing research is mainly devoted to the restoration of the poet’s biography and the characteristic of his literary activity on the whole. The goal of our work is to consider the features of Shchegolev’s poetic world. We analyze individual texts of the Harbin and Shanghai periods of his work. We put an emphasis on the formal aspects of Shchegolev’s poetic works in our analysis. They allow us to reveal the specifics of both the creative attitude of the author and the trends that characterize the literary schools in which Nikolay Shchegolev participated (first of all, “Young Churaevka” and “Friday”). The poet’s attention to rhymes, the emphasis on the sound design of the text, as well as experiments with the strophic construction indicate a convergence of the poetic works of Nikolai Shchegolev and other participants of the “Young Churaevka” and “Friday” with classical and acmeist traditions and also with avant-garde tendencies in Russian literature. In addition, we focus on Nikolai Shchegolev’s poetics peculiarities as autoreference, which also connects his work with avant-garde movements of the 20th century. We also note that there are images and themes associated with Chinese culture in the texts by Nikolay Shchegolev, but oriental motifs are often given only through allusions and associations.
