Annotation	The article presents objective and subjective factors that contributed to the creation of a regional office of the Asian-Pacific Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (APATRLL) on the basis of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at Transbaikal State University in 2019. The activity of the Department in various directions is analyzed in detail, the development prospects are determined. It is noted that the opening of the APATRLL office can give a new impetus to the promotion of the Russian language and culture in the border regions of China.
