Annotation The consideration of space and time as the attributive characteristics of being has actualized in connection with the development of cyberspace, from where mythical images claim to exist. Since ancient times, similar story of archetypal images can be traced in the cultures of all peoples, which contribute to the understanding of the unity of the human race. The purpose of the research is a socio-philosophical analysis and consideration of status changes, traditional functions of myth, transformation of mythological images. The methodological basis of the research was composed of comparative-historical, historical-genetic, structural-functional, retrospective approaches, which allowed us to reveal the features of the formation of mythological consciousness in cyberspace, continuity in historical time. Analysis of the functioning of the myth in modern sociocultural environment, having individualism, affects the formation of non-reflecting consciousness, a new type of consciousness is formed, a virtual mythological consciousness. Therefore, myth is considered as a way of manipulating consciousness in the field of social communication, as an artistic tool in art, as ideological attitudes. In cyberspace, space and time acquired features characteristic of art, which is fraught with inadequate perception, departure into the world of images, a “game of myth” takes place. The problem is complicated by the fact that modern man is lost between the world of reality and the fantasy, mythological images mix with reality. There is no standardization in the field of ethics today and moral expertise is very important. The need for a critical research of mythological consciousness is stated.
