Annotation	Evolution of a Cossack ataman G. M. Semenov’s views and peculiar features of his political attitudes has been revealed in the article based on his memoirs, principle historical methods and political approach were used. During World War I, Grigory Semenov being a staunch monarchist influenced by military setbacks and liberal propaganda lent himself to constitutional monarchy to be established either through self-imposed abdication of Nickolas II or by taking power in a palace coup. After Russian monarchy had collapsed, he became a strong supporter of military dictatorship establishment in Russia. Political activities of Cossack ataman Semenov are described as right-wing radicalism with characteristic features of so-called “revolutionary style” in comparison with A. V. Kolchak’s conservative radicalism. Constant use of tactical ruse often with touch of political adventurism was an individual feature of his political activities. He was aware of A.V. Kolchak’s conservative radicalism limits at the same time and tried to go his own way using geopolitical factor in his activities. He also took into account Bolsheviks’ political experience and used it to the extent possible. Anti-communism being specific feature of his activities after the civil war in Russia has become his comprehensive motive, thus, he defected to Nazi Germany and its allies. Being blinded by anti-communism, he failed to understand that his fight against the USSR was actually against Russia. His political failure resulting in his personal tragedy was inevitable, and historic act of revenge was legal.
