| Annotation | Linguistic and cultural studies allow us to note some linguistic patterns conditioned by the history of the people. Some aspects of power and management are beginning to attract the linguists’ attention nowadays. This area of culture clearly shows the role of men and the place of women in different spheres of activity in society.The article reveals the notion of “gender chauvinism” in the aspect of professional administration in different areas of Russian culture. Gender chauvinism refers to language restrictions on the use of nouns in the form of (usually female) gender denoting certain occupations or professions. It is proved that the specifics of the usage of asymmetric forms of nouns are due to special cultural differences in various fields of professional administration. The methodological basis of the study is made up of the provisions of sociolinguistics, linguoculturology, and the theory of gender. The tasks have been solved by analyzing the relevant fragments of the world picture related to the spheres of leadership and professional administration. The scientific article is intended to discuss the categories of “gender” and “leadership” by faculty members of students. The conclusions can serve as a starting point for further research on this issue. |
