| Annotation | The article investigates the features of the keyword method in literary studies and rhetorical criticism. Comparing various approaches, the author determines a number of essential features which help identify keywords in the text. The study reveals the necessity of introducing a new unit of the structural-semantic system analysis, provides its definition and points out its key features. This paper presents a case study of the Ivan Turgenev’s speech at the unveiling of the Pushkin’s monument in 1880 and analyses the algorithm of search and further interpretation of structuralsemantic systems in its text. It is fundamental to note that by relying primarily on the linguistic aspects, the suggested scheme helps to resolve a wide range of important practical issues connected with rhetorical analysis. |
