Annotation Hunting magazines are rarely objects of scientific research, nevertheless, this content has its numerous target group and socially important conceptual content. Linguoculturological analysis of specialized hunting magazine discourse enables us to reconstruct a cognitive model of the Dog’s gestalt in hunter’s linguistic view. The analysis was performed taking into account information policy of the periodicals using much empirical evidence (more than 600 hunting magazines from 2006 to 2018), the text blocks representing hunters’ and owners’ opinions about the nature and dogs are the priorities. Gestalt of the Dog is the key in total representation of hunters’ existence objectified in the language and specifying perception and the world structure in this social environment. Gestalt of the Dog was modeled in the process of identification and understanding of the most frequently used text-forming categories: the theme and communicative tasks of the material, associative and semantic fields of the keywords, lexical text macrostructure including specific character of lexical-phraseological field, stereotypical images which help to organize hunter’s knowledge and experience. First of all, hunter’s linguistic worldview presents some hierarchy of values which reflects single views, ideals, inclinations and interests culturally important for its bearers. The dog’s image is constructed owing to some symbolic characteristics: “a dog is a mirror of hunter’s personality”, “a dog as a companion and a friend”, as well as some conceptual characteristics: “clever and hard-working”; “holder of sensitivity to the world”; “furious and keen hunter”.
