Annotation	The article is a review of the Toponymic Dictionary of the Republic of Kalmykia. The dictionary is created by famous authors N. A. Kichikiva, E. B. Mandzhieva, V. I. Suprun and was funded by RFBR. The reviewed dictionary is the unique collection of archive, historic and ethnographic facts for each of the toponyms described in the Dictionary. From the point of view of lexicography, the Toponymic dictionary of the Republic of Kalmykia is a perfect example of compiling a dictionary of toponyms. Each name is written in a special font, given the morphological characteristics of the use of the toponym, including complex structure of the name. Variants of a toponym and those formations which are etymologically connected with the name are presented. At the end of the dictionary there is a common or proprietary lexicon, the meaning of which, according to the authors, can be considered fs the etymology of a certain toponym.
