Annotation The article based on the study of legislative acts considers some aspects of the legal status of Mongolian women at this stage. In the conditions of democratic reforms and transition to the market economy, Mongolian women have had additional opportunities for self-realization. On the other hand, they have become the most vulnerable part of the population. The adoption of the new Labour Law in 1999 was intended to protect the rights of women in the new market conditions. During the transition period, there were new problems for the Mongolian society: domestic violence and human trafficking. To resolve these issues, a number of laws have been adopted and existing legislation has been amended with the active participation of non-governmental women’s organizations. It is important to note that the legislation of the country was transformed according to the provisions of the international agreements ratified by Mongolia.
