Annotation This article considers a few issues concerning the contemporary state of traditional Mongolian cattle breeding in the conditions of globalization. Special attention is paid to pasture degradation and breeds of Mongolian cattle as a result of entry to the WTO. Mongolia’s budget and investments are re-orientated to the mining sector of the economy resulting in a disturbance of the traditional Mongolian nomadic culture, the historical memory and intellectual capital of the Mongols. The authors consider the traditional nature oriented culture of the Mongols and propose to carry out a number of specific measures aimed at the retrieval and evolution of the nomadic economy. At the same time, the authors consider traditional nature-protection culture of the Mongols, which being an inseparable part of the nomadic civilization, is not properly observed. In this connection, the authors propose to carry out a number of specific measures aimed at the retrieval and evolution of the nomadic economy. Among them are the outreach activities to promote the breeding of quality cattle, insurance and vaccination of cattle and market moneymaking.
Key words cattle breeding, culture, pastures, cattle, breed, farming, nature protection, globalization
