Annotation The article presents foreign philosophical and pedagogical ideas relevant to the cultural- historical Christian-oriented approach to spiritual and moral formation of the person manifesting in Russian pedagogy in the past decade. Application of methods of theoretical analysis and generalization of the primary sources and the works on the history of pedagogy led to the conclusion that the ideas accumulated and actualized in the history of foreign philosophy and pedagogy from antiquity until now have formed the basis of the following psychological and pedagogical requirements significant for the cultural-historical Christianoriented educative paradigm: consideration of natural inclinations of the person, development of essential (moral) human qualities, creating conditions for the human interaction with the world and people, support for self-knowledge and self-improvement, motivation creativity, emotional experience and comprehension of the phenomenon of human culture, in which the transcendent religious ideal is reflected.
