Annotation The problems of training agricultural personnel in the Republic of Buryatia were considered in this article. The number of the qualified personnel was extremely low, so one of the main tasks of the state was to train the qualified personnel for agriculture. Learning the historical experience of the agrarians’ development is up to date as the success of the agriculture development depends on the right decision of the personnel issue. The system of the professional training for specialists was created in the 1920s-1930s. The Buryat-Mongolian zoo-technical and veterinary Institute, Higher Communist Agriculture school, agricultural secondary schools, collective farms schools and different courses were established to train the personnel. New professions connected with new forms of labor organization appeared, the number of intellectually working people increased. There were 12–13 agricultural specialties in 1939.
