Annotation The article analyzes the structure of the live text and its basic properties based on the contemporary poetry of Igor Melnikov. Analyzing his poems, the author concludes that live text characteristics may be common both for prose and poetry. The leading wording is metaphorical (simile is one of its types as well). Live language processes are represented primarily by substantivization (as a cognitive shift) and intertextuality.
