The article examines the genre-format affiliation of modern journalistic discussion programs of radio channels: Vesti FM, Radio Rossii, Ekho Moskvy, radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. To determine the format-genre representation of programs we used the method of classification, a systematic approach. To identify the rhetorical goal setting of radio discourses and signs of sophistry in discussion radio programs, classifiers of signs of sophistry developed by researchers E. N. Zaretskaya and S. I. Povarnin are used. We revealed that the discussion broadcasts of a journalistic nature on modern radio are presented in formats of conversation with listeners, a “round table”, a journalistic talk show. Despite of the fact that journalistic discussion programs are implemented in most cases in the form of a focused controversy, which is a dispute aimed at defeating the interlocutor using only correct logical and psychological techniques, on the air of separate programs of Ekho Moskvy and Komsomolskaya Pravda radio stations, true anchorpersons and guests of the programs use sophistic (incorrect) methods of influencing opponents (insinuations, appeals to violence as a form of conflict resolution, “technological” methods of hindering the approval of another point of view, the withdrawal of the enemy from the dispute, the creation of a numerical advantage of one of the parties to the dispute, etc.). The use of sophistry techniques in discussion programs is one of the ways to enforce the psychological and speech adjustment of public opinion. The article provides recommendations for improving the debatable broadcasts of a journalistic nature: following the principles of tolerant communication, ethics of communication, reducing the aggressiveness of the ether, strengthening the real polemicity of communication in the on-air discussions. |
