Annotation The present period in the development of pedagogy and psychology is characterized by searching for a definition of the child’s giftedness nature and related problems of education. The author considers giftedness as a general generic concept that can be adequately described only from a perspective of developmental features of each gifted child. The article is devoted to the problem of child’s giftedness as an integral phenomenon. The author explores psycho-physiological and social-cultural foundations of giftedness development and examines different approaches to the understanding of giftedness nature from the viewpoint of biological and social correlation in the gifted child. The article concentrates on the problem of pedagogical conditions creation concerning the whole range of internal and external factors that are important for the fullest realization of the gifted child’s abilities. It concerns with the nature of relations between the person’s development and giftedness depending on age features, certain living conditions (environment), the child’s activity, the influence of significant adults and social institutions.
