Annotation The article is devoted to the analysis of the monograph “The Owl of Minerva flies at dusk written by Professor V. A. Kutyrev. This work is the result of author’s forty-year philosophical work. The subject of the study is a person. V. A. Kutyrev stands for the idea of sustainable development, which means that the world system should change at such a pace that allows maintaining human identity. The entire work is infused with ideas of anthropocentricism developed in the framework created by the thinker of the philosophy of Resistance and is opposed to postmodernism, transhumanism, postvitalism, etc. The author of the monograph describes the current state of society as the desire for self-destruction. It analyzes such concepts as deconstruction and deconstructivism. On the example of rejection of ethno-fallo-phono-logocentrism, the author illustrates the gradual elimination of man from the human. V. A. Kutyrev draws attention of readers to the need to understand scientific and technological progress in the context of its human purpose as science rejecting the restraining bonds of philosophy, religion and culture can lead humanity to death. As science is totally penetrating in the life of both an individual and the whole society, the author of the monograph determined the nature of the formulation of new ethical problems.
