Annotation The article investigates the influence of individual-stylistic features of the person on the formation of psychic representations of large-scale international events (LSIE) on the example of the XXII Sochi Olympic Winter Games of 2014. It presents the results of an empirical study conducted on a sample of 96 Sochi inhabitants. The distinguished groups of extraverts and introverts have great differences in LSIE psychic representations: extraverts have more positive psychic representations in comparison with introverts. The respondents having labile cognitive control showed more positive psychic representations in comparison with the respondents having rigid cognitive control. The results of the correlation analysis show that the higher the levels of the nervous system stability and extraversion of those who are tested, the more positive their representations of the 2014 Olympiad. The study proves the hypothesis that individual and stylistic peculiarities of a person (extraversion/ introversion, lability/ rigidity of cognitive control, neurotism/ stability of the nervous system) determine psychic representations of large-scale international events. This should be considered when forming psychic representations of the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi and the positive image of Russia in the world.
